Mirra Beauty Products - a Comprehensive Review and Giveaway *Closed*
I was recently given the opportunity to try out numerous products in the newly launched mirra product line currently available in Kroger stores. The mirra line contains both hair care and beauty products for the face and skin.
When I first opened my package, I immediately noted that the mirra haircare line (Daily mirra) features red borders and detailing while the mirra skin care products (Renew mirra) features green details. I find this very handy because I store most of our products in plastic tubs outside the shower, and we grab what we need as we go into the shower or head for the tub. The differing color bands make it easy to grab the facial cleanser instead of the hair gel, etc.
mirra replenishing lotion with bamboo and honey extracts: The mirra replenishing lotion is very good as a daily lotion when you want a bit more moisture but do not need an intensive repair lotion. It worked very well for me, as I do not suffer from inordinately dry skin. My husband does, and it didn't help him as much as it did me. Few products do though. Extra note: This product has a lovely yet subtle scent.
mirra exfoliating and detoxifying cleanser: Confession time. I am an exfoliating monster. I do deep treatments a couple of times a week and like to use less intense and somewhat nourishing products daily in the shower to exfoliate my skin. I really fell in love with this product for that purpose. The exfoliators present in it are not thick within the product but appear in the cleanser enough to serve their desired purpose while being perfect for daily use.
mirra soothing shampoo and mirra soothing conditioner: My husband noted that this product did not lather up as much as regular shampoo, which I had noticed without really consciously thinking about. What I noticed? My hair stays cleaner a little bit longer with these products. I have really long hair (mid-lower back), and I only shampoo and condition every 2 days to keep it healthy from root to tip. Usually when I get up in the morning on the second day before I hop in the shower, my hair is definitely ready for a wash. With this set, it still looks okay on the second morning but gets washed anyway.
mirra strong sculpting gel: I used this a few times during the trial period. One time was for an on-camera spot for a beauty video audition. It worked great for that. My hair felt as sculpted and secure as the hair on newscasters looks. (Say that 5 times fast!)
mirra replenishing body wash: This was pleasant to use as far as body washes go. It didn't make my shower floor slippery, and I felt like it was somewhat helpful in dealing with the dry skin the winter can leave you with in the upper midwest.
mirra hydrating night treatment: I haven't used this product consistently (night after night) yet, so I can only comment on the texture which was quite nice - neither inordinately thick or runny. I also appreciated that the scent of the product was not heavy as I do not care for highly perfumed facial care products.
mirra also offers other products that are all made with natural ingredients such as olive oil, aloe leaf juice, and cranberry, bamboo, honey, and chicory root extracts. I really love the appearance of the mirra make-up brushes and would love to try them out in the future, as I am an extraordinary make-up fiend.
