I actually enjoyed Hello, Hollywood! a great deal more than Stars Collide. I found Athena to be a mostly fun character to follow. I really felt like her constant babbling/slight tendency to overthink was well-portrayed in the volume. I particularly liked it when we were in the writing room with Bob and Paul near the beginning of the volume.
After Stephen came into the writing room, the dynamic changed and became more of a "does he like me/ does he think this is funny/ is he trying to take my job?" dialogue. This was okay, but not as much fun.
However, Stephen did bring the fun with his daughter, Brooke. I actually enjoyed the subtle developments in Athena and Brooke's relationship more than I liked the growth of Athena and Stephen's relationship. I actually felt like the love angle happened a little bit too fast...or without adequate development. The last three to four chapters in particular were open shut, open shut.
Still, the book was overall enjoyable, and I particularly appreciated a second trip into the backstages of Stars Collide.
Hello, Hollywood! is available as of September 2011 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.
