We recently had the opportunity to test drive a product from the new T.G.I. FRiDAY’S “Entrées for One” line. The opportunity was really for my husband, but he let me nab a bite or two anyway (Its more true to restaurant eating that way, right?). We chose the Sesame Orange Chicken.
DH was really impressed with the prep for this dinner since it didn't require reading glasses to get going. Basically, it was a snap to prepare. All you have to do is sit the bag in the microwave (proper side up, please!) and press the 4-minute button to cook the meal.
When the meal was done, DH put the contents in his favorite soup mug and was pleased to see that the entree hit the halfway point on the cup - more or less the standard size for an entree. Within the rice and veggies there were several generously sized pieces of chicken that had a really great texture and taste. The meat had not been pulverized or blended to the point that it was unrecognizable - it was actually pretty close to perfect! However, DH did say that the sauce used to flavor the meal was a lot like airplane food in that it was really, really rich. I would agree with that!
Long story short - the T.G.I. FRiDAY's entree for one was pretty enjoyable. DH gives it a 7 out of 10! (and I definitely wouldn't be opposed to having the occasional package in our freezer.)
