The Christmas Lodge, Thomas Kinkade Presents - a Giveaway and Review

My apologies for keeping my review of Thomas Kinkade Presents Christmas Lodge to the side for the past two weeks. I didn't mean to stall all of you that long, but now I actually have the movie review for you today and a Christmas book review for you tomorrow, so double yay! for that.

I went into Christmas Lodge not quite sure what to expect in terms of a film. I'm more than aware of Thomas Kinkade and his art, and I couldn't really figure out exactly how that would translate to film. It ended up working out pretty well.

I would say the filming of this movie is on par with a good Family Movie Night or other made for TV film. At times it feels a bit hurried and obvious, but it works out because the story is sweet and fun. The movie basically follows Mary as her love for the mountains leads her to another place that she loves....The official synopsis follows:

Thomas Kinkade presents Christmas Lodge: a place where a heart-warming past and loving future meet for one remarkable group of people. During a weekend trip to the mountains, Mary (Erin Karpluk) finds herself at the now- dilapidated lodge where she spent the holidays with her family growing up. She becomes determined to restore the building to its former glory. Inspired by her grandfather and guided by her grandmother in heaven, Mary throws herself into the project, and during the process finds herself drawn to Jack (Michael Shanks), a handsome man who loves the lodge as much as she does. Historically unlucky in love, this chance encounter allows Mary to renew her faith in life and discover her one true love. For an uplifting story about the importance of faith, family and the true holiday spirit, go to the Christmas Lodge.
Sound good? If you think so, you will not be disappointed with the film. It basically delivers on that synopsis and varies little. Its a fulfilling movie in a delightfully Christmas sort of way, particularly if you are used to the ups and downs (in terms of production quality) that come with family friendly movies.

I think you'll  like it. If you're still unsure...check out the official trailer, I bet it sways you! After it does, skip below the video to find out how to win a copy of Christmas Lodge for your very own:
